What does my sponsorship provide?
$25 per month provides food, clothing, a place to belong, an education, and an opportunity for a child to learn Christian values and ethics.

May I send my sponsorship several months at a time?
Yes, you may send payments in three month, six month or yearly increments. However, you will need to remember when to send your next payment.
Will I receive a tax-deductible receipt?
Yes. All donations over $2.00 is tax deductible and receipts will be issued by Global Connect.
How much of my sponsorship gift gets to my child?
100 percent of the money will be passed onto Global Connect. Global Connect then gives the money directly to ICMC. Any teams which go over to India on a mission trip are fully self funded. Not one cent of your money will go to fund these mission trips unless you specifically request for this to happen.
If I send extra funds ICMC, where does it go?
Any undesignated funds you send above your sponsorship amount feeds, clothes, houses and educates all the other orphans who do not have a sponsor. It improves the food, clothing, housing and education of all the children, resulting in improvements for your sponsored child too.
May I send a birthday or Christmas gift to my sponsorchild?
We discourage physical gifts for several important reasons. Those gifts often get stolen before they arrive at ICMC; ICMC may have to pay customs to receive them. It is unfair to the other children, creating a competitive atmosphere. Often gifts we would choose here in Australia are not applicable to them. However, you may send extra money at any time for birthday and Christmas. It will go towards school supplies and backpacks for school or the new outfits or dresses that your sponsor child and all the children will receive for their Christmas and New Years presents. Write to them!!! That is the greatest gift you can give them.
How can I make them feel special if I can’t send them gifts?
Write to them!!! Send them a photo of you and your pets or your children. When we asked children to show us their “treasures” in their little trunks, they pulled out pictures and letters from their sponsors. Things do not love them. People do.
How will my sponsored child communicate with me?
You will receive a newsletter via email every other month updating you on whats happening at ICMC. If we don’t have your email, PLEASE let us know as this is the primary way we can communicate with you without incurring cost. Your child will also write to you several times a year as part of their school writing projects. Remember that many children only know Tamil so their letters (and yours) are translated. Also, remember that many children are quite young and letter writing skills are often helped along by an adult.
May I write letters to my sponsor child?
YES! Please DO write letters and send photos of yourself and your family, coloring pages, bookmarks, cards, a deflated balloon…anything that doesn’t change the shape of a letter (such as jewelry). They treasure any communication from their sponsor. It makes them feel very special. Ask questions. Get to know them. They are real children. They love to draw pictures for you and they treasure any communication they receive from you. Consider yourself a mentor in their spiritual and emotional development.

Can I visit my godchild?
ICMC has comfortable guest accommodations for foreigners. Several teams each year go to India from different parts of the country. If you are interested in visiting, please contact Pastor Jay directly at icmcsalem@eth.netWhere do the children at ICMC come from?
Most are children of widows, prisoners, lepers, or pure orphans left to fend for themselves on the street. Most of the children come to the orphanage by someone dropping them off at the front door because they cannot feed, house or educate them.
